These statutory and advisory bodies report to the Minister of Conservation.

Serviced by DOC: The New Zealand Conservation Authority, the 15 regional conservation boards, the Nature Heritage Fund Committee, Nga Whenua Rahui Komiti, the Guardians of Lakes Manapouri, Monowai and Te Anau, the Guardians of Lake Wanaka, the Titi (Muttonbird) Islands Komiti, the Taupo Fishery Advisory Committee and some reserve boards established under the Reserves Act and Marine Reserves Act.

Not serviced by DOC: The QEII National Trust, the Game Animal Council, the NZ Fish & Game Council and the 12 regional fish and game councils. They have their own staff. The Director-General of Conservation can attend and speak at the meetings of these statutory bodies.
